Description

The net object provides a single method that can be used to gain information about the device’s current network configuration and all of the network options available to it. For most imp modules, this is 2.4GHz WiFi, but for the imp005 this mode is joined by 5GHz WiFi and 10/100Mbps Ethernet. The imp006 may be configured with either a 2.4GHz WiFi module, a 2.4/5GHz module, or no WiFi at all. The impC001 provides a cellular connection only.

The net object is instantiated automatically as a property of the imp object.

Member Entities

The imp.net object has the following member methods:

imp.net.configurewps() — Initiates an attempt to request WiFi credentials from a router using WPS

imp.net.counters() — Retrieves a snapshot of WiFi counters

imp.net.getcellinfo() — Retrieve cellular connection state information

imp.net.getcurrentconfig() — Return the current Network Interface Configuration

imp.net.getserverinterfaces() — Retrieve the network interface sequence used for connection attempts on multi-interface devices

imp.net.getwifihints() — Retrieve the imp’s preferred wireless router or access point BSSID, and WiFi channel

imp.net.info() — Returns comprehensive imp network details

imp.net.latchwifipower() — Prevent an imp’s WiFi sub-system from being powered down

imp.net.open() — Attempt to bring up a generic local network connection

imp.net.setserverinterfaces() — Set impOS’ network connection failover sequence for multi-interface devices

imp.net.setwifihints() — Set the imp’s preferred wireless router or access point’s BSSID, and WiFi channel
